Pyrrhus: "Pyrrhus" was another name for Neoptolemus, Achilles' son, often portrayed in Greek mythology as "cruel and savage." See Wikipedia: NeoptolemusHyrcanian beast: i.e., fierce tiger. The tigers of Hyrcania, in the Caucasus, were famously ferocious.
