to
Much Ado About Nothing,
Act 5, Scene 2, line 30.
Leander: —Leander swam the Hellespont nightly to see his love Hero. The old tale of Hero and Leander had been recounted by Christopher Marlowe, a poetic genius and Shakespeare's contemporary (he was also born in 1564). Marlowe's poem Hero and Leander, completed by another poet, was published shortly before this play was performed.
