to die well and not my master's debtor: —If Adam had become unable to work, he probably would have expected to continue to live on his master's estate, and would have therefore been indebted to his master for his livelihood. This he would have considered shameful. As it is, he looks forward to dying well by dying while he is still serving his new master, Orlando.
