6. bay where all men ride: harbor open to any ship (common slang for a loose woman).

7. falsehood: deception; delusion.   hooks: enticements.

9. that a several plot: that to be private property.

10. common place: common land open to everyone.

13. erred: i.e., by judging them false.

14. this false plague: this plague of seeing false things which I judge to be true.
