1. love: love itself, the spirit of love.

2. edge: keeness.

6. wink: close.

9. int'rim: interim; i.e., the time that the poet and his beloved are separated.

10. parts: separates.   contracted new: newly engaged.

12. Return of love: Perhaps both a return of the loved one and the return or intensification of the feeling of love.

13. it: the "sad int'rim."
